Harun Yahya and Big Irony

I’ve been reading Adnan Oktar’s (Harun Yahya’s real name) stuff for years. Among the most ironic of his generally incompetent works is the book, The Qur’an Leads the Way to Science. One would imagine from the title that the book would be about how the Qur’an actually lead somebody to science, or to a scientific discovery, or to something having to do with science.

Instead, it consists mostly of lists of “scientists of faith.” But there is an interesting problem with his lists.

They contain almost no Muslims.

They are composed almost entirely of Christians and Jews, people who doubtlessly did not find the Qur’an useful, since they all reject it as false.

Below for example is the entire list of “Scientists of faith from the past” from the second part of this book. (List #1). There are 100 scientists on the list.

And not a single one of them is a Muslim.

In the third part of his book, Oktar makes a tiny bit of progress. This is the list of “Modern scientists of faith” and it is more than half again longer than his previous list; fully 155 named scientists. (List #2).

And whereas the last list had NO Muslims at all in it, this one does a little better.

There is one.

Yes that’s right. Out of 255 “scientists of faith” that Oktar was able to come up with, ONLY A SINGLE ONE OF THEM WAS MUSLIM.

And the progress made here is balanced by the fact that in this second list, at least 18 of them are members of the most fundamentalist Christian movements in America, and openly consider Muhammad and the Qur’an to be tools of shaytan.

So it is difficult to figure out how the Qur’an could possibly have led them to science.

Just ask yourself a simple question. If Quran Leads the Way to Science why doesnt he improve it with Islamic Scientist. Why does he use Jewish and Christian Scientists? What is wrong with Muslims or Quran?

  1. Anthony North Says:

Logical reasoning is never a trait of creationists like Adnan Oktar, or his ghost writers.

“Why does he use Jewish and Christian Scientists? What is wrong with Muslims or Quran?”
The explanation is simple. Oktar, or one of his cult members, copied the lists of scientists from an American website. Most of his books are plagiarised from other sources. Oktar is too busy eating cocaine kebabs and cavorting with underaged girls to actually write anything himself as that would be too much like hard work for him.

  2. Anthony North Says:

“What is wrong with Muslims or Quran?”

Oktar, or his lackeys, are only interested in trying to use Islam for their own ends. Money, power and sex. They aren’t really bothered about researching Muslim scientists to prove their assertions when a quick and easy solution is to plagiarise someone else’s work.

  3. Abu AFak Says:

“They aren’t really bothered about researching Muslim scientists to prove their assertions when a quick and easy solution is to plagiarise someone else’s work.”

When Muslims turn away from science in favour of mysticism and falsehood they turn away from the best way of learning what reality is.
We don’t need theocratic false prophets we need open minded investigators into the nature of reality.

  4. Edip Yuksel Says:

Here is one of the reasons:

If he listed Ali Ibn Sina (980-1037), whose book on medicine, Shifa, was the main text book for about 500 years in Europian universities…

If he listed Abu Bakr Muhammad al-Razi (844-926), another great scientist who contributed in medicine.

If he listed Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406), the author of classic book, Muqaddama, whose contribution in Sociology is acknowledged universally…

If he listed Muhammad al-Haytham (965-1039), the major contribution to the optical science…

If he listed those and other muslim scientists, he would be implicitly endorsing their position on behalf of evolution, centuries before even Darwin was born. Adnan Oktar might be a delusional cult leader, but he is not that stupid. He hides the truth when it is convenient for his promotion of his name and pseudoscience.

PS: Inshallah the BrainbowPress will publish Dr. Shanavas’ book within a few months:

    Islamic Theory of Evolution
The Missing Link between Darwin and the Origin of Species

    Peace,
    Edip

  5. Salima Mayoun Says:

The west is only now beginning to recognize the great debt their renaissance owes to the Islamic scholars of Al Andalus, that translated Greek knowledge and then went beyond that knowledge, which began to percolate through to medieval Europe. Adnan Oktar knows nothing of this; he is no scholar.
